First visit
Your first visit
About 45 minutes, in a private room, with the doctor who will see you again.
What to bring
Photo ID
Your health insurance card, if you use one
Any auto or workers' compensation claim number and the contact's name
A list of your medications
Discharge papers or images from an emergency room or another provider
Clothes you can move in

What happens
The same steps at every office.
- 01
Step 1: Check in
The front desk confirms how the visit will be paid and answers your questions.
- 02
Step 2: A talk
Your doctor listens to what happened and how you are doing, in a private room.
- 03
Step 3: A hands-on exam
Your doctor looks at how you move and checks the area that concerns you.
- 04
Step 4: What we found
Your doctor explains the findings in plain words, including any reason to see a physician first.
- 05
Step 5: Your decision
If care makes sense, your doctor suggests a plan. You decide whether to start, and when.
What we do not do at a first visit
We do not ask for a plan up front
You don't sign up for a series of visits before your exam.
We do not take x-rays by default
Only when medically necessary, and your doctor tells you why.
We do not adjust your neck without explaining first
Your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment, and you can say no.
We do not ask for health details online
Our website form asks for contact details only. Your doctor asks about your health in person.
